Last month, I wrote about purpose, some of this thinking was inspired by my own reflections about the purpose of my blog.
When I started my blog, it was as a creative outlet, a way of keeping in touch and sharing some of what I was learning. As I've built my coaching practice and got further into my studies, I started to review and build on its purpose.
Following some time-out reflecting, I have decided to launch a different style of communication with a more focused mission. Click the cover page for a preview ->
Why?
For anyone that has experienced great coaching, it is transformational, in the way it helps us to see things from a different perspective and unlock the answers we need to achieve a goal, make a decision or overcome a challenge.
The other benefit of coaching is that it forces us to make a habit of spending time focusing on self reflection – considering what it is we want to achieve, the ways in which we would like to grow and develop and what we need to this in a way that is authentic and sustainable. This part of coaching is possible to achieve in a DIY fashion - with the ingredients being time and knowing what to do with that time. The two ingredients also represent two barriers. To start with we are busy and making time to focus on our self growth is not easy. And if we find the time, we often don't know what to do with it.
Time for You is designed to break down both of these barriers. Firstly, it is remind and inspire you to make time. Secondly provide you with content and ideas to help you decide what to do with that time.
How?
It will be brief, visual and active, to make engagement easy and hopefully fun.
It will arrive on a schedule with time between editions to invite you to engage with the content and connect with any reflections.
Having gathered some feedback, the timing is to be quarterly with a within quarter check-in to act as a reminder, gather some input and connect. Everything that runs quarterly seems to work to the same quarterly cycle - meaning everyone is extra busy in January, April, July and October. Therefore, I am going to avoid these times and go off-piste with the schedule.
- 1 August
- 1 November
- 1 February
- 1 May
What?
Each edition will have a topic related to one of the core areas of Ateb coaching - achieve, transform, explore and balance. Here are some examples of the topics I expect to cover over.
Achieve: action focused e.g. goal-setting, decision-making, delegation
Transform: personal growth focused e.g. confidence, strengths, listening
Explore: self-exploration e.g. purpose, values, emotional freedom
Balance: e.g. resilience, self-care, reflection
The aim is for each edition to follow a similar format to the prototype in the link i.e. the same type of content shared on a different theme.
What now?
First edition will be shared on 1 August. If you are already a blog subscriber then you will automatically receive it. If you know anyone in your network that may benefit from subscribing then please do spread the word by sharing the link below.
If you are not a subscriber, then why not give it a go? Sign-up here.
